Marketing tool? Place to vent about your personal life? Way to lecture your current clients when they’re naughty? Social media’s purpose can be a bit blurred as it has so many different uses both personally and professionally. If you are using social media in your business, let’s make it very clear as to who you are talking to when you post. Are you talking to current or prospective clients…or both? It is my recommendation to use it for attracting new clients and thus any post that doesn’t appeal to a prospective client (price increase, cancellation policy, pictures of your dog) should be sent using a different communication tool so as not to turn off prospective clients.
