The Business Roller Coaster Ride
This is the third part of a series on The Realities and Legalities of Expanding Your Lash Business. You can check out the first part here and the second part here.
I’m excited to introduce Cayla Smith, owner of Wink Eyelash Studio in Yakima, WA. Cayla’s experience of expanding her lash business is probably the most true and relatable story that I hear time and time again. Cayla was one of those “Business Owners by Accident” who had to sail the ship while she was building it as most lash artists can probably relate to. She has persevered and is continuing to figure out the direction she wants to take her lash business, which now includes 3 staff members.
Her journey is one that most lash artists take, but what’s unfortunately unique about Cayla is that she didn’t take the easy way out. She turned her business around to structure it legally and ethically instead of continuing down a risky path that could’ve ultimately cost her the entire business she had worked so hard to build.
